The Expert Panel met on the 22th of October 2019 to assess the projects that would be eligible for the 2019/2020 Research Call.

In this edition of the Call, 43 projects were received, 16 choose Type A, intended for established researchers and 27 choose Type B, intended for emerging researchers.

After several rounds of selection processes, the final score was set. Projects that obtained the highest score in each category were:

Type A. Established researchers

Title: “Metabolic cooperation and competition between colorectal carcinomas (CRC) and their tumor microenvironment: Validation of ZEB factors as prognostic and predictive biomarkers and metabolic therapeutic targets in CRC”.

The Patronage of the Foundation on proposal from the Scientific Committee approved the granting of two fellowship grants, valued each at 60,000 €, one for every of the two above mentioned projects.

The research will take place during the academic years 2020 and 2021.

Having renounced the resignation of Dr. Laura María López Sánchez to the execution of the awarded project, in accordance with the established regulations the rights passed to the immediate classified project and consequently the scholarship in Modality B) for emerging researchers of the 2019/2020 Call was awarded to the following project:
